Tension headaches like other types of headaches are experienced by many people. Although studies show that more women tend to experience it more than men, these can be a problem in carrying out your everyday activities.

These horrible headaches can sometimes be caused as a result of the tension created by another ailment, inner ear problems or ringing in the ears.

Tension headaches are medically known as tension-type headaches. These ailments occur mostly in women than in men. Some individuals tend to mix up tension type headaches with migraine headaches and end up taking the wrong medication.

As stated before; tension type headaches can become a serious problem and hinder a person's lifestyle. If you have a loss of appetite, feel tenderness in the scalp area, your neck and shoulder muscles in addition to the pain in your head, you could be suffering from a headache caused by tension.

There are chronic and episodic tension headaches a person could experience. How do we identify each? If you have been suffering from the headache for the last 15 days and have noticed a pattern in the past few months, you are likely to be suffering from a chronic tension headache. Episodic tension type headaches are of a milder version and lasts for a lesser period.

Determining the causes of tension that result in these headaches is quite difficult for doctors. But it is believed that an individual's stress and tension level play a bigger role in the occurrence of a bout of head pain. In addition to having a stressed out life, a person 穩s high intake of caffeine or alcohol, feeling anxious or depressed can all increase the severity of the discomfort you have.

No person can work well when they suffer from headaches. Tension headaches are no different from all other headaches. If you get this type of headache, you will obviously notice a decrease in the total productivity level.

There are some people who do not take any type of treatment for these nuisances and end up in worse situations. Treatment for tension headaches usually includes medical prescriptions for pain killers such as Analgesics and a combination of other medications. Getting a proper diagnosis done is more important than consuming any medicine.
